Yahoo! Messenger enhances its distribution
I think instant messaging would be very juicy for context planning as it carries high involvement (for some people even addiction
), heterogeneity (in fact its franchise is like a human-mosaic) and interaction.
A couple of days ago Y! Messenger’s management decided to tackle seriously the other Y! IM protocol users (meebo, Trillian), announcing that now people can chat with their Y! friends from any Internet browser (being also MSN-friendly).
As MSN remains world’s most popular messenger, a serious reason for doing this distribution expansion might be the opportunity to make more money out of advertising (just think of streaming media). Linking image below.
